If you look at the bottom diagram, the 16S JK BMS has a pre-charge that limits it start up current to about 125A (for 48vdc system) and takes about 50 milliseconds to charge typical inverter input capacitor.
It only works when the BMS is first activated from an off state. Once BMS is active it provides no surge protection, like if you turn off then on a series DC breaker after inverter discharges its input capacitors.
I guess you found an easy way to get the BMS power up sequence with its pre-charge circuit to operate.
The 8S model does not have this separate pre-charge circuit. There are places on the 8S PCB for the extra MOSFET and resistors but they are not populated on PCB. Guess they discovered the 8S battery voltage is not enough to damage the MOSFET's so they can do without it on the 8S model. There is some soft start, with a lot of tolerance variability, in just turn on time for the regular high current series MOSFET's.

Ich habe die 19.31B geflasht. Leider musste ich feststellen, dass zunächst die zwei vorhandenen Slave BMS nicht erkannt werden. Nachdem ich das erste Slave ebenfalls auch Adresse 0 gesetzt habe, funktioniert es komischerweise. Demnach haben jetzt Master und Slave die Adresse 0 und ein weiteres Slave die Adresse 2.
du solltest di B auch nur installieren wenn du das brauchst! B bedeutet nicht neurere Version, sondern eine Special-Variante für Leute die sehr viele Packs haben.
Soweit ich Andy richtig verstanden habe, wird diese “B”-Version einzigartig bleiben und es keine Weiterentwicklung bzw. weitere B-Varianten von neuen Firmwarereleases geben.
