The online seminar gives an overview of the current battery market situation and then introduces the working principle and construction of a lithium ion battery, as well as presenting the hazards caused by a thermal runaway of a lithium-ion cell or -battery. In the second half of the seminar, common safety standards for lithium ion batteries in the fields of power tools / consumer devices, electromobility, stationary energy storage systems as well as transport regulations are introduced and the required electrical-, mechanical- and thermal tests are presented.
